Climbing Calm are a registered Social Enterprise delivering Therapeutic Climbing sessions to adults with mental health conditions and autistic young people.

Our fully accredited Therapeutic Climbing Course is the first in the world to Certify Therapeutic Climbing Instructors.

You will gain the knowledge and tools to deliver Therapeutic Climbing programmes for Autistic Young People and Children with SEND as well as programmes for Adults experiencing Mild to Moderate Mental Health difficulties. You'll learn to teach evidence-based techniques to support mental health and wellbeing

Our programme is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team including a Therapeutic Climbing Instructor and Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Clinical Psychologist.

"I had a great time when I attended all the 6 sessions, not only I learnt all the climbing skills but practiced breathing techniques, that helped me focus and being in the moment and pushed me out of my comfortable zone, it was like a different kind of meditation training."

Make an Impact

Most climbers understand that climbing can be a tool to support Mental Health. At Climbing Calm we have developed a programme that harnesses the fantastic benefits of climbing and combines it with the knowledge and skills from a multi-disciplinary therapy team, including Clinical Psychologists, Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists, specialising in supporting Mental Health.

We are incredibly proud of the impact our work has had and are so happy to be able to train up other Certified Therapeutic Climbing Instructors around the world.

"Watching my son thrive, laugh with friends and behave in such a confident way, I didn’t think was ever going to happen"

"I really enjoyed the sessions. I wanted to feel anxiety in a controlled environment so that I could practise dealing with it suddenly. This was a great place to exercise that"

"It has been very good for me and has given me space to switch off. I have found learning exhilarating and I would recommend it to everyone"

"Our daughter T is autistic and has ADHD amongst other significant conditions. For the past 18 months T has been unable to attend school due to mental health issues related to being in the wrong environment for a neurodiverse child. She has struggled from, at her very lowest point not being able to leave her darkened room, not being able to function, not being able to sleep, not being able to be with other people to being able to join in sessions at climbing calm with other children - something that feels like a miracle!"
